The biggest obstacle in this Reisterstown bathroom was a cramped, inefficient layout featuring a tiny corner shower and an outdated tub surround that ate up the entire room. At A1 Renovations, we approached this project as a complete structural overhaul rather than a simple cosmetic update. Our team demolished the existing tub and removed an interior closet, a critical move that allowed us to physically expand the bathroom's footprint. This phase involved precision framing and re-engineering the plumbing and electrical lines to support heavy-duty upgrades like a high-capacity steam generator and radiant heated flooring. By gutting the old space and removing structural barriers, we created the necessary square footage for a world-class master retreat.
From the Subfloor to the Ceiling: Designing a High-Performance Master Suite
We took care of the entire tub-to-shower conversion. To ensure the highest quality foundation, our team custom-built the concrete shower base on-site, providing a seamless, low-step entry that is far superior to standard pans. We then expertly installed natural pebble floor tiles and complemented them with beautiful blue subway tile on the walls for a clean, custom look.
As part of this comprehensive remodel, we installed all the modern black fixtures, replaced the old vanity with a sharp new black unit, and installed the frameless glass enclosure to maximize the light and size of the room. This full-scope transformation ensures the new bathroom is not only stylish but built for lasting quality in this Ellicott City home.
