    This duration is heavily influenced by factors like required Interior Structural Repairs, new utility lines, and custom material lead times (such as custom cabinetry). We guarantee to provide a detailed, firm schedule upfront once your project scope and materials are finalized.

  • Do you handle the permitting process?

    Absolutely. As the General Contractor, A-1 Renovations manages all necessary permits, inspections, and communications with Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Annapolis county, Prince George's Country, Howard County, Montgomery County, Carroll County, Harford County building authorities for work including electrical, plumbing, and interior structural repairs.

  • What is included in your project estimate, and is it a fixed price?

    Our pricing is built for maximum predictability while offering design flexibility. We provide a contract with two distinct components:


    Fixed-Price Component: This covers all labor, project management, permits, and rough materials (e.g., lumber, structural components, wiring, plumbing runs). This price is guaranteed and will not change.


    Finish Material Allowance: We include a budget allowance for all finish materials (e.g., custom cabinetry, tile, fixtures, countertops). Once you select your final products, we will either credit you the difference if the cost is lower than the allowance, or present a change order for your approval if the cost exceeds the allowance.

  • Do you provide design assistance, or do I need to hire an architect?

    We offer comprehensive design assistance, which is included in our project management services. We handle the full design process for remodeling projects, including 3D renderings and material selection (like Custom Cabinetry). Our in-house expertise allows us to design and execute necessary Interior Structural Repairs as part of your renovation. We focus exclusively on remodeling and major renovations within your home's existing footprint.

  • Are Egress Windows required for Basement Finishing projects?

    Yes. If you are converting a basement space into a habitable area (such as a bedroom or in-law suite), code requires a secondary means of escape. We specialize in code-compliant Egress Window Installation and ensure all aspects of your Basement Finishing project meet the latest safety and building codes for Maryland.

  • Do I have to shop for and purchase all the materials myself?

    No, that is the primary benefit of our full-service approach. While you maintain full control over selecting your finishes (tile, paint, fixtures, etc.), we provide professional guidance and manage the entire procurement process. We source high-quality materials, coordinate delivery, and ensure all products arrive on site correctly and on time, simplifying your entire Renovations experience.

I hired Alisher and his team at A1 renovations for a complete house remodel because when comparing his company to others he had very highly rated reviews. The project entailed replacement of all of the flooring, doors, windows, kitchen, fireplace mantle, electrical wiring and plumbing, HVAC, insulation, bathroom and laundry room. Although the pictures I am posting may not do his team justice (as I have a lot of things laying out), the quality craftsmanship and his teams perfectionist attitude is very evident from the start of the project to the finish. At the end of the project, he fine tuned everything I pointed out, making the result of the project perfect. Other positives that can’t be understated is Alisher communication (is always free for a call while a contract is in progress) and his grounded and soft spoken personality. I have hired Alisher and his team for some upcoming additional project and can’t give him a high enough praise. A+. Highly recommend.

Did a great job renovating my 3 bathrooms. Good with questions throughout the process too. Had delays due to home depot not getting materials shipped, but was able to make up for it timewise pretty well. Workers were very focused and hardworking. Reasonable prices when compared to other companies. Quality is very good, workers definitely knew what they were doing and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend. Don't have before pic, sorry.

After a few estimates and a colleague’s recommendation, we decided to go with A-1 Renovations. Like any major project, we had a few hiccups, however, they (A-1) were very flexible with our requests. Alisher and his team are very reliable, have outstanding work ethics, and their attention to detail met our expectations.The project took a tad longer than anticipated but it was worth the wait. Now, our kitchen not only looks great but also functions perfectly for our family’s needs.
